Financial planning—say those two words and watch people twitch.

Why is this? Why is it that after 15 years as a Financial Planner, I keep hearing perfectly capable people say, “I don’t get it!”

Most people approach financial planning from a place of fear. They’re confused by the books, worried about doing the wrong things, and overwhelmed by the dizzying array of products and jargon. No wonder they approach organizing their personal finances with all the enthusiasm of planning their own funeral.

But what if financial planning was actually fun & enjoyable?

I hear you laughing. But it can be.

I know because I have fun doing it, and my clients do as well (not all the time mind you as this is a very serious business). And because we have fun I just assumed there was a book out there somewhere that was about making financial planning fun and creative. I never did find it. So I am writing it instead.

Financial planning is too important to always be taken seriously. Just think of the big things in your life, your spouse, your kids, your passions, sure sometimes you treat them seriously, but other times you laugh, you smile, you play. And that’s what you’re going to do with your finances—in fact you’ll be having so much fun  you won’t even notice you’re learning.

Let’s Have Fun With Money!™ makes money fun again, by putting you in control and by helping you see what wonderful things you can do, instead of always focussing on the things you can’t. Instead of starting with investments, it starts with YOU. Who are you? What dreams do you have? And, just as importantly, what kind of financial baggage have you been lugging around, and how can you lighten the load?

Instead of an endless stream of infographics, acronyms, and doomsday scenarios, Let’s Have Fun With Money!™ uses people, places, and stories to show you how to make the most of your opportunities and choices. The information is still there, just in a way that’s entertaining and easy to understand. So, you know, you actually read it.

There are people who see the glass half empty, and there are those who see it half full. And then there are those people who just use the right-sized glass so they don’t have to worry about it.
